Yellowmoon is one of Ireland’s leading film and television post production facilities. A dynamic and modern company, Yellowmoon specialises in picture and sound post production. Established in 1994, Yellowmoon is today Northern Ireland’s largest facility, post producing programmes for many of the UK and Ireland’s leading independent production companies.

Tyrell has worked closely with Yellowmoon since 2000. Due to an expansion of their business Yellowmoon recently opened a second facility in Belfast, they contracted Tyrell to provide complete design and fit-out of the post production studios in the new building. In addition, a key requirement of the project was the seamless connection of the company’s two facilities. Yellowmoon also commissioned Tyrell to build a new audio dubbing facility with high definition video and audio playback features.

Yellowmoon now has 11 edit suites which a range of formats and projects, including Standard Definition and High Definition. All of the studios are supported by a central machine room and are networked via Avid Unity Lanshare, a shared server which provides eight terabytes of storage. This means that they can have several editors working on the same material at the same time, an invaluable resource which leads to considerable savings in terms of time and money. Tyrell’s system integration team connected the IT infrastructure in both of Yellowmoon’s facilities via advanced fibre cabling to ensure seamless integration.

Tyrell also provided Yellowmoon with Digidesign’s ICON D Command mixing desk and ProTools software allowing quick and easy integration with the facility’s Avid systems. Yellowmoon’s new audio dubbing studio opened in April 2009.
