Tyrell Delivers Agility 2G to Pepper Post.

DUBLIN, December 10, 2009 - Tyrell CCT, a leading creative technology solutions provider for the broadcast and post production industry, today announced that the company has provided Pepper Post, a major UK post-production facility, with the innovative Anystream Agility 2G multi-node encoding and workflow solution from Grab Networks. This highly scalable encoding solution, together with the customised workflow designed by Tyrell CCT will enable Pepper Post to offer their clients a flexible and fast video encoding service. The investment will initially be used by Pepper Post for the transcode of content for their client Projector TV. Projector TV is a new IPTV/VOD platform that specialises in world cinema, independent movies, documentaries and international television programming.

Anystream Agility 2G from Grab Networks was built to meet the demands of the rapidly changing video industry, and over the past decade it has become the preferred on-demand video production and workflow management tool. The Agility 2G solution provided to Pepper Post comprises of four nodes running across blade servers, managed from a single web user interface. The system can transcode up to 100 films a day from materials delivered by content providers worldwide and has been designed by Tyrell CCT to provide Pepper Post with an automatic encoding and delivery workflow. The powerful encoding engine enables immediate transcoding to commence whilst the content ingest is still occurring, allowing the facility to greatly increase efficiencies.

Agility 2G is built on a node- based architecture which provides unmatched scalability, performance and reliability. Agility 2G supports input from any production or post-production source and also includes a wide range of ingestion and output formats such as H.264, Silverlight, Windows Media, MPEG-2 and Flash. The encoding solution also provides in-depth monitoring tools which constantly check the health of the system, virtually eliminating downtime. Agility 2G achieves a market-leading level of throughput capacity via grid processing for processor intensive codecs, such as H264 and HD resolutions.

"Anystream Agility 2G gives us significant transcoding abilities and a scalable architecture to respond to a growing market," commented Shane Warden, Joint Managing Director, Pepper Post. "We now have the ability to offer fast and flexible encoding and transcoding services at any level and volume."

"Tyrell CCT has designed a customised workflow to meet Pepper Post's media requirements, not just for Projector TV but for any of their video content providers," commented Nick Soper, Technical Director, Tyrell CCT UK. "Agility 2G allows customers to effectively meet the challenges of greater throughput, better and faster availability and more rapidly changing distribution requirements that are inherent in the fast growing on-demand video marketplace."
